Sal’s Bakery To Host Casino Forums with MGM, Penn National

Sal’s Bakery is pleased to announce that representatives from both Penn National Gaming and MGM Resorts International have agreed to partake in the bakery’s Open Forum Series. MGM Resorts International will be appearing at the café on the 24th of January followed by Penn National Gaming on the 29th. Both events are set to begin at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be provided for those in attendance compliments of the bakery.

Representatives from MGM International Resorts will be sharing their vision for a casino in the South End of Springfield on the 24th. The casino firm, based out of Las Vegas, Nevada, unveiled their proposal on August 22, 2012. The representatives will be defining the their corporations plan for a Springfield Casino and will be answering questions from those in attendance.

Jeff Morris, Director of Public Affairs for Penn National Gaming, will be appearing five days later on January 29th to showcase their plans for Hollywood Casino Springfield. Penn National, based out of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, has submitted their plan for the North End casino in partnership with Peter Picknelly on land currently occupied by Peter Pan and The Republican. Morris is excited to participate in the forum so that he may highlight the benefits of Penn National’s proposal to citizens of the Greater Springfield area. “We are thrilled to engage in dialogue with members of the Springfield community.  We look forward to partnering with the community as our proposal will impact the entire city and region, playing a lead role in its bright and prosperous future”.

These events are the third and fourth installments of the Open Forum Series at Sal’s Bakery and Café. The series has been established to encourage dialogue among community members regarding current events and issues throughout the Greater Springfield area. Owner Salvatore Circosta is thrilled to be hosting both casino firms at his bakery. “Our goal is to provide the people of Western Massachusetts with an opportunity to become more involved within their communities,” continued Circosta. “We look forward to hosting Penn National and MGM in our informative and interactive Open Forum Series”.
