City Councilor Tim Allen Comments On His Upcoming Forum Appearance…

“I am honored to meet with the citizens of Springfield at Sal’s Bakery Open Forum this Tuesday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m. At this open forum I will make some opening remarks about a few of our key issues – the casino project, our tax levy problem, residency, the zoning ordinance, and civic engagement in general. I love to talk about how we can change our great city for the better. I am happy to respond to questions on all subjects. My experience on the City Council has been nothing short of outstanding. I have learned about our government and met so many people who work hard and passionately to make our city better. I look forward to discussing these ideas with all who come on Tuesday night.”

STCC reflects on forum…

“Sal’s “Open Forum” Series at Sal’s Bakery is a wonderful opportunity for community organizations to showcase their services to the Springfield community. We applaud owner/entrepreneur, Sal Circosta and event coordinator, Brendan Reed for providing a forum for organizations, such as Springfield Technical Community College, to meet with residents and answer their questions. Kudos to Sal’s Bakery for uniquely combining business and service in such an enjoyable environment. We had a great evening and the red velvet cake wasn’t bad either!”

Councilor Fenton Reflects on Open Forum…

“Speaking at Sal’s was a great opportunity because it gave me chance to speak candidly about Springfield with a group of people who are invested in our city. I find that far too often in local politics the information that people get is reduced to a sound bite, or a five minute conversation with an elected. The speaking program at Sal’s gave me the chance to spend a significant amount of time with people who care about Springfield and who were interested in the truth about our progress and where we stand. We dug deep into some very important issues and that was refreshing. I found the attendees to be thoughtful, respectful, and engaging. The event was a huge success, and I left there feeling proud of my city, her residents, and with a sense of accomplishment for having enlightened some folks about the realities of city politics and Springfield’s future. Thanks Sal!”

Representative Puppolo reflects on Open Forum…

“I was honored to be the first speaker at Sal’s Bakery Open Forum Series. There was a good sized crowd and I spoke about many issues including the legislative process, the budget, parole reform, local aid, health care, and educaion. I also answered many questions and overall felt it was a great experience for all present. I commend Sal for his insight to hold these discussions and I look forward to returning again. This is a great opportunity to interact with my constituents and residents and to continue to bring the State House to us.”
